Man caught with ecstasy tablets

WHEN GARDAI called to the scene of a disturbance, they found a young man with 28 ecstasy tablets in his possession, Wexford District Court heard.

Before the court was David Robinson, 32, The Faythe who pleaded guilty to having ecstasy for sale or supply at Rock Lane, The Folly on September 9, 2009.

Inspector Pat McDonald said gardai received a complaint about youths causing a disturbance at the back of Tesco. When they arrived at the scene, a number of young people fled but the defendant remained there.

When he was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act, 28 ecstasy tablets were found. He admitted during interview that he was going to sell them.

Siobhan Dunne, solicitor said a group of people were with the 19 years old defendant on the night but they all ran off. He co-operated with the garda search.

She said he was attending counselling and had the support of his parents. Each tablet was valued at €5. Judge Donnchadh O Buachalla adjourned the case to January 17 for a Probation Report.
