Man cultivated cannabis

A WEXFORD town man who pleaded guilty to the cultivation of cannabis plants had his case adjourned to allow for the preparation of a community service report.

37-year-old Paul Kehoe, 66 Mount Prospect, Clonard, pleaded guilty at Wexford District Court to the cultivation of cannabis plants at that address on September 18, 2012. Supt. Patrick Carolan told the court that following a search of the house two cannabis plants were found.

Eva Lawlor, solicitor, said the defendant had not been in trouble for a long number of years. He co-operated fully with gardai.

Judge Patrick Clyne said lots of people knew what was going on, the dogs in the street knew, but the gardai had to execute a search warrant to find out.

Ms Lawlor said the defendant is a person who has made lots of progress in his life. Judge Clyne said he would adjourn to September 16 to allow for a community service order report.
