A Wexford town man was fined €150 and ordered to enter a bond to keep the peace for two years when he admitted public order offences at Wexford District Court on Monday.
John Paul McGuire, 83 Clonard Village was charged with being drunk in a public place and engaging in threatening and abusive behaviour at Church Street on June 3.
The court heard that at 12.35 a.m. on the day in question the Gardai were making an arrest when the defendant began to interfere.
He was asked to 'stand back and not disrupt the arrest' but refused to leave the area.
The defendant is a 32-yearold unemployed plasterer.
