Man fined €4,000
A CROSSABEG MAN was fined €4,000 at Wexford District Court for failing to make income tax returns.
Christopher Kehoe, Newtown, C rossabeg was convicted of failing to make returns for 2008.
The defendant did not appear in court and State Solicitor Kevin O' Doherty said he also did not turn up on a previous occasion.
Judge John Coughlan asked what his occupation was and Mr. O' Doherty said he described himself as a building contractor.
Judge Coughlan was told that the maximum fine was €5,000 but he had the power to reduce it to one quarter of that.
'€4,000 if he is ignoring the court,' said the judge.
