Man who died in Courtown Harbour will be laid to rest on Monday
The funeral of the man who died after his car entered Courtown Harbour will take place on Monday, January 26.
Alan (Jock)Penman died after his car entered the harbour on Thursday, January 22. His body was recovered from the vehicle at around 9pm on Thursday night and his car was removed shortly afterwards.
Alan who is a Scottish native was living in Seamount Cottage, Courtown and had previously lived in Riversdale, Clondalkin. He was pre-deceased by his son Mark and his brothers George and Billy and was the husband of Valerie and father of Alan and Claire.
He is survived by his wife children, step children, grandchildren, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, sister Betty, nieces, nephews, extended family neighbours and friends.
His remains are reposing at his residence with removal on Monday to the Star Of The Sea Church, Riverchapel, Courtown, arriving for 11am funeral mass followed by a 2pm service in Newlands Cross Crematorium. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers to the R.N.L.I.
