Oylegate Community Centre was buzzing with activity recently when it played host to a showcase event featuring members of Men's Sheds from around the county.

Each shed in Wexford was represented at the event which included a display of craftwork and arts created by the various members throughout the county.

Among those in attendance at the showcase was Barry Sheridan, the Chief Executive Officer of the Irish Men's Sheds Association.

Around 80 members from around the county were also in attendance and they shared their stories and relayed to each other the benefits to be had from getting involved in a Men's Shed initiative.

Mr Sheridan complimented the members present for their dedication in ensuring the success of their respective sheds and he also praised them for their creative talents - which were underlined by the fantastic array of work on display.

The Men's Shed movement began in Australia but has been spearheaded in Ireland by John Evoy, from Co Wexford, who was recognised in 'down under' for his work establishing the initiative here in Ireland.
