Moloney calls for road improvements
Independent candidate Emmet Moloney has drawn attention to the condition of Coolcotts Lane, which he said is the subject of concern for locals.
On canvassing the housing estates in Coolcotts, the Selskar native said that it was an issue that was raised constantly by residents. He said that various pot holes and uneven surfaces have led several people to damage their cars.
'They have also stated that visibility is very poor on the road and this is a worry for many parents whose children walk to and from school on the dark mornings and evenings, along with the fact that there's no proper continuous footpath along the lane,' he said. 'I believe with the high population in the area the concerns of the residents need to be actioned immediately and the council need to take heed of this.'
Mr Moloney also called for appropriate safety measures at the entrance to the Clois na Ri estate where he is a resident.
