Cllr. Malcolm Byrne has been advised that he can look forward to enjoying a cup of coffee in the Gorey motorway service station some time in the summer of 2014.
The Fianna Fáil representative questioned county manager on the prospects for the yet to be constructed service station being open. He also wanted to know when he will be able to drive all the way from Gorey to Dublin on motorway or dual carriageway road.
He wondered whether it would be fair to assume that the work will be complete by Easter 2014 but the manager reckoned suggested that it would require a few more months than that . He informed county council members that the contract for the job is due to be signed in October while funding has been agreed for the project.
