Murder charge man in custody
A MAN has been remanded in custody after being charged with the murder of Jason Ryan.
James Connors (25) of Rosemount, Drinagh, was brought before a special sitting of Gorey District Court last Friday night.
He is charged with murdering Jason Ryan in Wexford on January 25 this year.
Detective Garda Brian Cummins of Wexford Garda Station told the court he arrested the defendant at Rosemount Drinagh at 4.30 p.m. on Friday.
He brought him to Wexford Garda Station and charged him. He made no reply to the charge.
Judge Gerard Haughton granted legal aid after hearing that the defendant is not working.
He was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on April 26.
Dressed in a navy tracksuit bottoms and a black and grey striped hoodie, Connors did not speak during his appearance.
Jason Ryan (27) died in Wexford General Hospital in the early hours of January 25 after being fatally injured during an altercation on the street near his home in Hollyville Heights where he lived with his pregnant
girlfriend Samantha Hore.
