Niamh is most stylish lady at the Irish Derby
COUNTY WEXFORD woman Niamh Canavan will soon be jetting off to Dubai, after she won the Most Stylish Lady title at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh at the weekend.
While most eyes were on the action on the race track, Niamh was turning heads among the race goers on Derby Day, and attracted the attention of the judges who awarded her the coveted title.
She was presented with a magnificent prize of a five star holiday to Dubai, plus a shopping spree in Dubai Duty Free, by Breeda McLoughlin from Dubai Duty Free who sponsored the competition.
Niamh, from Gorey, works in Finance in London, and visits home regularly.
'I came home for the races, and stayed for my grandmother's birthday,' she said.
She bought her outfit in Portlaoise in April in preparation for the racing season. She has never won such a prestigious prize before. She is particularly excited about the trip to Dubai.
The judges on the day were celebrity chef Rachel Allen; television and radio presenter Mairead Farrell; and Melanie Morris, Editor of Image magazine.
Niamh wore a stunning pale pink dress and jacket by Irish designer Heidi Higgins. Her hat was by Philip Treacy and her shoes and handbag were from LK Bennett.
Niamh said she was delighted with her win, adding that she didn't even expect to be spotted in the huge crowds, let alone win.
