No muzzle or licence

A ROSSLARE resident has been fined €200 for an offence under the Control of Dogs Act.

Keith Chaney (27), of 14 Chestnut Grove, Glendale, Rosslare, came before Wexford District Court on charges of having no licence for a dog, having a dog in public with no muzzle, and having a dog in public not on a chain or leash.

Inspector Pat McDonald informed Judge Donnchadh O Buachalla that evidence was previously heard in the matter and it had been adjourned to allow Chaney pay a veterinary bill of €509.34.

He had paid €400 previously and presented the balance to Inspector McDonald. With that bill settled, he was then convicted and fined €200 for not having the dog on a chain or leash, with the other two charges taken into consideration.
