No sign of Wexford's two Fianna Fáil TDs
IT WAS left to Wexford councillor Paddy Nolan to fly the flag for Fianna Fail at the hospital meeting as the party's two Wexford TDs, John Browne and Sean Connick, did not attend.
Alan Corcoran, who chaired the meeting, said he had received apologies from the two Fianna Fáil men who were attending an air rescue services meeting in Dublin.
Mayor of Wexford Philomena Roche (FG) said she was 'very disappointed' that they didn't turn up.
Fine Gael TD Paul Kehoe also attended the 4 p.m. meeting in Dublin which concerned the planned downgrading of the helicopter rescue service in the south east.
But he arrived at the Talbot Hotel on Monday night just as the hospital protest began and addressed the attendance, pledging his support to the campaign.
Labour's Deputy Brendan Howlin said he regretted that none of the Fianna Fáil Oireachtas members were at the meeting:
'They didn't all have to go to Dublin. There are four of them.'
