Noisy fun day at the library
MAD scientists caused the noise levels to rise at Wexford library recently as part of the County Council summer fun programme.
The bank holiday weekend saw book lovers flock to the library but this time to check out some fun happenings as part of the summer fun programme.
This year the event had an environmental theme and children and adults participated in a full day of creative crafts and fantastic fun at the library.
Mad scientist Craig Steven donned a white lab coat and got explosive amid the encyclopedias with his chemistry experiments, while children later juggled their journals at a circus skills workshop by Buí Bolg.
Children were also encouraged to shake their booties with the Supernovas at a hip-hop workshop, while Kelvin the environmental magician used puppets and magic to get a green message through to the children.
A marquee in the car park also allowed children to get hands on and many went home with their own handmade bird boxes.
'It was buzzing down here, and we had a lot of people sign up and join the library. It was a great day. It certainly wasn't quiet in the library that day,' said Nicola McGrath from Wexford library service.
