Numbers on live register in February drop by 287
The number of people signing on the Live Register in Wexford decreased last month by 287 people.
It is the first time in a number of months that the numbers signing on in Wexford dropped. In total 16,093 people signed on in Wexford last month with 5,628 people signing on in Wexford town area. 4,131 people signed on in Enniscorthy area while 3,583 people signed on in Gorey. New Ross had the smallest number of people signing on with 2,751 signing on there.
In January there was a total of 16,380 people on the register.
There was a total of 9,694 men on the register last month county wide while there was a total of 6,399 women.
Of the 16,093 people signing on a total of 2,435 were aged under the age of 25 with 1,403 being men. The remaining 1,022 were women. There were a total of 13,668 people on the Live Register aged 25 years and upwards, 8,291 of whom were men with the remaining 5,377 women.
All districts, Wexford, Enniscorthy, Gorey and New Ross saw a drop in the number signing on with the largest drop seen in Wexford town with a decrease of 152 people. With a drop of 29 people Enniscorthy recorded the smallest decline.
