Wexford architects O'Leary Sludds scooped at top award at the 2017 Fit Out Awards which took place last week.

The architects which are based in Strandfield Business Park in Kerlogue won the Fit Out Project of the Year - Small Office under €500k for its design of the Bard Clearstream Beta Office in Enniscorthy.

The Fit Out Awards set the benchmark for excellence in the execution of world-class fit outs. An independent panel of recognised and expert judges, representing Ireland's fit out industry, determine the winners of the Fit Out Awards. The focus is to deliver a balanced judging assessment from industry leaders who will bring their extensive knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise to the judging process ensuring that the winning entries are truly outstanding and worthy of receiving a Fit Out Award.

The judges commended O'Leary Sludds project saying they 'made sure to never lose sight of the key requirements of their clients. The atmosphere created by their design had to be inclusive, friendly and relaxed, while also allowing the inclusion of cellular offices for managers. In delivering these objectives, this entrant impressed our judges through its display of professionalism, adaptability and flexibility'.

Cathal O'Leary of O'Leary Sludds said they were delighted to receive the prestigious award. 'Needless to say it was a team effort and we were delighted to have worked with South East based consultants to convert our vision into a reality and deliver a modern office space befitting a world class medical device manufacturer. Many thanks to the rest of the team; MGM Partnership, John Creed & Associates and Prochem Engineering.'

The fit out of Bard Clearstream's Beta Office involved a commercial interior office fit out with a central blue feature which snakes its way through the space in order to break up the large expanse of open plan office space.

The 'snake' creates a communal zone of informal meeting, print, storage and water cooler areas where people will naturally come together over the course of a working day.

O'Leary Sludds Architects completed a turnkey service which ranged from the co-ordination of a full design team to procuring all loose & fitted furniture.
