Olympic hopeful Adam visits Barntown Church
IRISH OLYMPIC boxing hopeful Adam Nolan paid a surprise visit to Barntown on Sunday.
Ballagh man Adam dropped in to say hello to delighted parishioners after Mass on Sunday morning.
The boxing champion has known Barntown curate Fr. John Carroll from the time he served as a priest in the Ballagh.
Adam was on a visit home to his family during a short break from training in Dublin and decided to make the spontaneous courtesy call.
'When I was in the Ballagh, he was a young lad in the parish. He is a very good guy, very under-stated,' said Fr. Carroll.
Adam spent some time in the garden of the parochial house chatting to local people.
''All the young lads were delighted to see him,' said Fr. Carroll.
