Ongoing concerns over drug accused

GARDAI have 'ongoing concerns' about a Kilmore Quay man, Wexford District Court heard on Monday.

Alan Finnegan, of 26 Crossfarnogue Villas, is charged with possession of cannabis resin for sale/supply at his home address on April 11, 2009.

Cormac Dunleavy, for Finnegan, told Judge Donnchadh O Buachalla that the case had been adjourned from a previous date to allow for the preparation of a probation officer's report. He said that the report was 'quite favourable' from his client's perspective.

However, Inspector Pat McDonald said that Finnegan has come to the attention of Gardaí lately. On January 22 last he was found in possession of €700 worth of drugs at Ashford, Co Wicklow. ' We would have ongoing concerns,' he said.

Judge O Buachalla adjourned the case until October 17 next and ordered that Finnegan sign on at Wexford Garda Station every Monday and Friday in the meantime.
