Plenty of questions about tenant purchase scheme
Unanswered questions about the finer details of the new tenant purchase scheme are expected to be answered at the end of the month.
Speaking at last week's municipal meeting Cllr George Lawlor said there was great interest in the scheme and he had been contacted by numerous people but was unable to answer all their questions. He said there was some confusion over the yearly income threshold of €15,000 and wondered if it was a combination of income and social welfare payments and what was the percentage of the money had to relate to each element.
Housing official Anthony Bailey said there were question about the scheme but said that there is an information meeting for local authority Director of Services at the end of the month which he said should answer a lot of questions about the scheme.
'I'm confident of getting a lot of information at that meeting', he said.
