Premier staff learn how to serve those with disabilities

THE STAFF and management from the 'Premier' take-away stepped out of the kitchen last week to take part in the Wexford Gold Star Awards Disability Awareness Training.

The workshop saw a group of community representatives come together to speak with staff and discuss what they feel is best practice in terms of making business more disability aware.

The purpose of the workshop was to inform businesses of best practice models to ensure they offer the best service possible to customers with disabilities.

Rick Muldoon, Accessibility Development Officer with Wexford Borough Council, described the day as a huge success and commended the enthusiastic approach demonstrated by the team from the 'Premier'.

Phase Two of the Gold Star Award Disability Awareness Training will take place on Wednesday, 22 August, Wednesday 29 August and Monday, 3 September. All businesses, big or small, are welcome to take part in the training. For further details contact Rick Muldoon on 053-9166944 or email rick.muldoon@wexfordboroughcouncil.

The closing date for Phase 2 is Friday, 10 August.
