Pro players in visit to Wexford rugby camp
Professional players Ben Marshal and Darren Hudson were the star turns last week when they called into the Wexford Wanderers grounds at Park.
The pair from the Leinster squad were the centre of attention on Wednesday for the 65 participants in the rugby summer school at the club. The visitors brought a full set of the trophies won by the province during a successful 2012/3 season.
'The Herald' Leinster rugby summer camps are for boys and girls aged six to 12. They are run by IRFU coaches – in this case Stephen Gore from the Leinster branch, Wexford's Noel Ferguson, Ross Barbour from Enniscorthy and Nick Murphy of New Ross.
The camp ended on Friday, after the children spent the week improving their fitness as well as fine tuning their rugby kills, such as passing, tackling, evasion and kicking. There was also time to enjoy more casual activities, with a bouncy castle on call.
Further camps will be staged at Gorey RFC from August 5-9 and at Enniscorthy RFC August 19-23. For more information visit www.leinsterrugby.ie/camps .
