Progress towards new Slaney bridge
Consultants will soon be appointed to decide where is the best place to put a new bridge over the Slaney in Enniscorthy.
The replacement for the soon-to-be-demolished Rafter bridge, pictured above, is planned as part of an ambitious flood relief programme for the town.
At last week's meeting of Wexford County Council, Cllr Keith Doyle wanted to be sure that the road serving the bridge will link up with the N30 New Ross Road at Arnold's Cross.
Council official Eddie Taaffe assured Cllr Doyle that the views of councillors on the subject would be passed on to the consultants, once appointed.
