Publican has case dismissed
A PUBLICAN had the case against him dismissed at last week's sitting of Wexford District Court.
Michael McDonald (55), 114 South Main Street, Wexford was charged with the sale of intoxicating liquor to a person under 18 years at McDonald's Bar, 114 Main Street on December 11, 2010.
The court heard gardaí entered the licenced premises having noticed a juvenile drinking there. The juvenile gave his date of birth to gardai at May 1993 making him 17 years at the time.
McDonald told gardai 'we have thrown him out three or four times. He wasn't served here'. Gardaí didn't introduce the youth's birth certificate as a proof and the case was dismissed.
