'Q Mark Award' for Bluebird Care

HOMECARE company Bluebird Care which has offices in Wexford has been named Business Group of the year for quality standards. The announcement was made at the National Q Mark Awards.

Irene Collins, Managing Director of Excellence Ireland Quality Association, said the award celebrates outstanding levels of commitment to quality standards.

'Quality standards are at the centre of Bluebird Care's operational ethos. Working in an unregulated sector Bluebird Care are to be commended on achieving the Q Mark in 18 individual franchisee locations. Very well done to everyone,' said said.

Director of Operations with Bluebird Care, Eddie O'Toole says from the very outset Bluebird Care has had quality at its centre-point.

'We have our own internal quality standards which we adopt from our parent company in the UK where homecare is regulated. Head office undertake spot checks on a bi-monthly basis and do full internal audits bi-annually.

Separately we have committed to the Q Mark standard, an independent audit of our standards. 18 of our 20 offices are currently Q Mark certified and this reinforces that at all levels of our business we are strongly committed to quality.'
