Racecourse vandal left his passport at the track
IF YOU'RE GOING to create a bit of mayhem one thing you don't want to do is leave your passport behind at the scene of the crime.
But that's what happened at Wexford Racecourse last Thursday night after a group of men decided to have a few drinks and then tear down part of the running rail.
More than €600 worth of damage was caused to the rail, and some widows were also smashed, meaning course officials had to work flat out on Friday to get the racecourse ready for Saturday's meeting.
During the work, they discovered a few discarded beer cans and a passport amongst the debris.
The passport was passed on to the gardai who quickly tracked down its owner who was detained and questioned on Friday.
They were still looking for at least two other suspects.
