Radiotherapy patient bus gets a special blessing at fundraiser

MANY BLESSINGS were placed on the new SERT vehicle, which brings Wexford radiotherapy patients to Waterford for treatment daily.

Fr. Jim Fegan gave a special blessing to the new vehicle, and many drivers and past passengers, attended the blessing last Saturday morning.

The special event coincided with the annual coffee morning of the South East Radiotherapy Trust which was held at Wexford Harbour Boat and Tennis Club.

SERT Wexford is a voluntary transport service which aims to take the stress out of the daily journey to Waterford for local radiotherapy patients. Over €3,000 was raised on Saturday for the service and the fine weather made for a very sociable morning.

According to co-ordinator Niamh Tierney it was a great day for the service which has been running in Wexford for over three years. 'SERT is very grateful to all of our faithful friends, both old and new,' she said.
