Rainy outlook for bus users

A call for a bus shelter to be erected on Newtown Road - (one of several made in recent times) - was met with the same deflating response.

Cllr Davy Hynes called for the shelter, having been interrupted by the strains of Boolavogue emanating plaintively from a laptop nearby. District Manager Angela Laffan read from correspondence from Bus Eireann in 2016 following a similar request, that last year's new bus shelters had been agreed and Newtown Road wasn't on the list. It stated that its need would be assessed and if deemed required would be included in the 2017 programme of works, but no update was given.
