Registration for adult Gaeilge class

NA MACALLAÍ's Irish language classes for adults in Co Wexford are back, with registration over the coming days.

There are different levels offered and the courses may also now be of interest to prospective teachers as the Department of Education has accepted Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge Level B2 as meeting the Irish language requirement for primary education programmes.

' This is a great opportunity for people who would like to enter the teaching profession but who do not have the necessary Irish language qualifications for the colleges of education,' said a spokesman for Na Macallaí.

'Unlike the Leaving Certificate Irish syllabus and examination, the TEG B2 syllabus and exam are designed with the adult learner in mind, which greatly enhances the learning experience.'

The registration dates are at the Gaelscoil in Gorey tonight (Tuesday, October 18) at 7 p.m.; at the Brandon House Hotel in New Ross tomorrow ( Wednesday) night at 7 p.m. and on Thursday night at the FDYS on Francis Street in Wexford town at 7 p.m.
