A plan of action has been put in place to combat illegal parking at Wexford Park for Sunday's match against Waterford.

Mayor George Lawlor said a traffic plan has been established to help residents affected by illegal parking and also for ease of access for those attending the match.

'Following meetings between myself, the Gardaí and the GAA, a traffic plan has been drawn up for Sunday. Estates close to Innovate Wexford Park will be closed to all but local traffic from Sunday morning. People are being asked to park in designated car parks (Clonard Church, St. Peter's College, North End)

'People are also being encouraged to arrive early and park in Whitemill Industrial Estate and the road between Wexford Hospital and Coolcotts lane. A huge crowd is expected so let's try to make it a pleasant afternoon for everyone. Loch Garman Abú!'
