Santa's drop of cheer raises thousands

IT WAS the invasion of the Santas last weekend as Wexford businessman Bobby O' Neill led his annual festive pub crawl for charity.

Dressed up in Santa Claus outfits , Bobby and a group of friends visited 16 pubs on Saturday night, enjoying at least one drink in each hostelry and collecting donations for Wexford Able-Disabled Club along the way.

Despite the recession, both publicans and customers gave generously during the night while participating Santa Clauses also raised money through sponsorship cards. The final amount hasn't yet been totted up but is expected to hit a few thousand euro.
