School gives cheque to Ozanam House
The students in the Presentation School in Wexford showcased their caring nature recently when they presented a cheque to Ozanam House.
The school's Transition Year St Vincent de Paul Nano Foundation students raised €515 for the centre and the money was presented to Aideen Moran who expressed gratitude to the pupils for their generosity.
The money was raised when the students participated in a St Vincent De Paul 'Blue Day' initiative which saw them wear blue to the school.
Speaking to this newspaper TY Coordinator, Jacqueline Hartnett, said: 'The students came in wearing blue that day and really worked hard at making it a success.'
Throughout the Blue Day the students held a number of events including face-painting, a cake sale and hand-painted collages.
'The students do other things as well throughout the year and they had a successful toy and food appeal at Christmas,' said Ms Hartnett.
With regard to the Ozanam House fundraiser she commented: 'We're very proud of them and they organised it themselves; it was a great success.
