Wexford-based sculptor George Hay aka The Shapesmith, pictured in the famous Scotsman building in Edinburgh which is now an upmarket hotel, with the oversized bagpipes sculpture which he created in his workshop in Churchtown, Carne.

George who is a native of Scotland, received a special commission to make the bagpipes and spent five months completing the project before the piece was shipped across the Irish sea to be given pride of place in the iconic building which was once home to the Scotsman newspaper.

'The client is very happy with it and it has started a few conversations', said George's wife Michelle of its arrival.
