Seminars to focus on children's wellbeing
The National Parents Council of Ireland are this week holding three training seminars across the county focusing on children's mental health and wellbeing.
The free programme supports parents to encourage and promote positive mental health and wellbeing in their children. Ther programme also explores how the building of resilience in children helps them to manage and cope with the day to day stresses of life as they occur.
The three seminars will take place in the Horse and Hound, Ballinaboola on Tuesday June 9; the Ashdown Park Hotel, Gorey on Wednesday June 10 and the Talbot Hotel, Wexford on Thursday June 11. All three programmes begin at 8.00pm.
Positive mental health and wellbeing enables young people to lead fulfilling lives. It is recognised that the family is the primary source of nurturing and support for children and plays a central role in the promotion of their positive mental health.
Parents who attend the session will explore the factors that influence mental health and wellbeing in their child; learn how to build and nurture resilience within their own child; be given tips on how best to support their child's positive mental health and wellbeing. All parents of primary school children as well as teachers are welcome to attend these free sessions.
