Shelmalier Club show they can walk the walk
THE SHELMALIER Walking Club in conjunction with Sports Active Wexford was proud to host Sunday's stage of the Wexford Walking Festival, which took place at various locations throughout the county over the weekend.
The club led many local and visiting walkers through the Raven Point loop in Curracloe on Sunday morning.
The walk was followed by a reception in the GAA Complex in Hollymount, which concluded with the official opening of the new walking track at the Shelmalier GAA club grounds by Shelmalier Club Patron Fr Jim Fitzpatrick.
Arising from the positive response to the club walkway, the Shelmalier Walking club was formed over a year ago.
The club organises walks for its members every Wednesday evening and Sunday morning at the Raven Point and at various Sli na Slainte routes throughout the county and beyond and these events are very popular.
The club has more than 60 members already, and is always interested in welcoming more.
