The organising committee for St Ibar's/Shelmaliers Camogie fundraiser 'Operation Over the Water' were thrilled with the turnout last weekend for the 6k fun run at the GAA Club.

The winners of the race were Seamie Harding, Sarah Leacy and Sean O'Leary. Refreshments were enjoyed afterwards in the complex and presentations were made.

'We gave prizes to the group with the biggest weight loss, to the individual with the biggest weight loss, for those who attended best, and to the children who took part as well,' said committee member Patricia Fielding.

The fundraiser was in conjunction with the television programme 'Operation Transformation'.

'We started about eight weeks ago and would have a weigh in every Tuesday night in our class. Then we would meet every Friday evening and Sunday morning for a walk, jog, or a run.

'We would like to thank Martina O'Sullivan, our nutritionist, and Dermot Nolan, our personal trainer,' said Patricia.
