So, which road really is the worst in Wexford
Councillors vied with each other to come up with nominations for the worst road in Wexford town.
Cllr Anthony Kelly declared that potholes are huge problem across the town in general, with Kennedy Park, Hill Street and Distillery Road worth a specific mention.
The Sinn Féin man said he was receiving calls from motorists who have sustained damage to tyres and wheels as a result of the poor road conditions.
Cllr Fergie Kehoe put forward Bishopswater, Coolballow and Whiterock as areas which repeatedly prompt complaints from members of the public.
Cllr Davy Hynes reckoned that the pothole at the corner of School Street was a particularly nasty example of the hazards faced by road users.
He also pointed to Summerhill, which has been 'torn up', and to Avondale Drive as an example of a small estate with road surface problems.
Engineer Sinead Casey indicated that Summerhill and Bishopswater will be given priority now that water pipe laying in the area has been completed.
However, she offered no commitment to residents or motorists pending an announcement about how much money will be in the budget.
