Soccer star Stephen selling his Rosslare pub for more than €1.2m

FORMER Ireland international soccer star Stephen Hunt has put his Rosslare gastro pub, Tides, on the market for offers in excess of €1.2 million.

Due to other business commitments in the UK, Stephen has now decided to sell what has become a very successful licensed premises.

Tides Gastro Pub is a beautifully appointed two-storey licensed premises which enjoys a prominent corner trading position with views over the coastline and the adjoining Rosslare Strand and public car park.

Since the acquisition of what was then Bradys of Rosslare, by Stephen in 2014, the premises has been extensively refurbished to a very high standard and is fitted out in a contemporary style with a 'New England/Cape Cod' nautical theme and in the words of the auctioneers 'oozes charm and character'.

When he bought the pub, Stephen said at the time that he was planning for life after football.

The accommodation comprises ground floor bar, restaurant, catering kitchen, keg stores and customer toilets.

There is an extensive south facing courtyard with a heated awning covering the seating area. On the first floor there is a further preparation catering kitchen, office, dry goods store and staff changing facilities. The first floor also offers further expansion possibilities.

The entire extends to c. 373 sq m (4,013 sq ft).

Joint agents Kehoe & Associates (Wexford) and CBRE (Dublin) have confirmed their instructions to offer Tides for sale by private treaty.

According to the joint agents John Ryan of CBRE and Colum Murphy of Kehoe & Associates, the sale of Tides Gastro Pub offers an exceptional opportunity to acquire a highly successful licensed premises.

At present a substantial food and drink business is carried on in the premises and the opportunity now presents itself for a new owner to continue, expand and exploit the operation of this very successful business.

Stephen won 39 caps for the Republic of Ireland, scoring one goal during his time with the national team.
