Solicitor fined €3,750
A WEXFORD SOLICITOR was fined a total of €3,750 at the local District Court for failing to make VAT and tax returns.
Sean Lowney, St. Mary's, Ferrybank pleaded guilty to three counts of failing to provide returns in a case brought by the Revenue Commissioners.
The offences related to the years 2008 and 2009.
Judge John Coughlan fined him €1,250 on each of three offences.
State Solicitor Kevin O' Doherty said all returns had now been furnished.
Judge Coughlan directed that in the event of an appeal, a sum of €3,000 in cash should be lodged in court.
