Southend group to feature on TV3 as 'Ireland's Top Teens'
A GROUP of civic-minded young people from Wexford town are to feature in a television special called 'Ireland's Top Teens' which will be broadcast on TV 3 in the autumn.
The Wexford teenagers are members of Southend Family Resource Centre Youth Group and were chosen for the TV programme after being honoured at the Permanent TSB Foroige Youth Citizenship Awards held recently.
The awards recognise young people who have worked voluntarily on a project which makes a difference to people living in their community.
The Southendrepresentatives including Lucy Cullen, Samantha Nolan, Jessica Lawlor, Colin Murphy and Stephen Duggan set out to combat anti-social behaviour on the green in Maudlintown by planting flowers and shrubs and painting a decorative mural on the adjacent wall.
Youth projects from around the country were honoured at the awards but only 10 will go forward to take part in the TV show.
