Stole crate of beer
A YOUNG man who stole a crate of beer from Dunnes Stores had his case adjourned at Wexford District Court for a Probation Report.
Gary Pierce, 11 Westwinds, Kilrane, Rosslare Harbour pleaded guilty to taking the beer valued at €16.99 from the supermarket on January 21.
His solicitor told the court that he had been to Cuan Mhuire and was free of alcohol for the first time in over 10 years.
The court heard that the defendant had received a suspended sentence for a driving offence in Junde 2010.
Judge Clyne said he did not intend to revoke the suspended sentence but if the defendant came back before him again, he would take a different approach.
'He has done very well but he is extremely vulnerable,' said Judge Clyne, adjourning the case for eight weeks.
He told the defendant's solicitor that the probation report is to assess the defendant's progress not to penalise him.
