Stolen copper wire valued at €100,000
RAID ON THE OLD DUBLIN ROAD
THE COPPER wiring stolen from an Enniscorthy business on the Old Dublin Road recently may have been worth close to € 100,000 according to reports.
Audacious raiders used a lorry they stole in the Enniscorthy Electrical Wholesale compound to transport their ill-gotten goods away from the scene.
The vehicle was later recovered last Monday at Steelstown near Naas in Co. Kildare, where it was given a forensic examination. Investigating gardaí suspect that the culprits were from outside the Enniscorthy area, though they may have had local advice.
' There is huge money in copper,' commented a spokesman for the force, who advised businesses to review their security measures in the light of the Enniscorthy Wholesale incident.
