Streets of Wexford to come alive during Culture Night
WEXFORD will come alive this Friday, September 24, with a huge array of events taking place throughout the town as part of Culture Night.
There is a wide range of events for culture vultures to enjoy, with the bells of Rowe Street Church heralding the official beginning of the event when they ring out at 5 p.m.
Wexford will become a veritable cultural wonderland on Friday as local art galleries will have late night openings, there will be a walking tour of Loch Garman with historian Nicky Furlong, a children's open art studio in Wexford Arts Centre and much, more.
Music will be heard from all corners of the town, the lively Monck Street will echo with music from 8 p.m.; Music for Wexford in St Iberius at the same time will feature some of Ireland's leading musicians; there's a Ceili More in The Dun Mhuire with the Screen Mummers at 8 p.m.; the Ballindaggin Pipe Band will be performing on the Main Street from 5.30 p.m.; there will be a Samba drumming group in Selskar Square from 6 p.m.
