Students explore the world of movie-making
Students of Superstars Stage Academy explored the world of television and film during an intensive six-week film production programme
Superstars Academy is well known for its singing, dancing and acting classes but this year a Peformance Lab was introduced for senior students aged from 11 to 16 years.
The initiative allowed students to develop films based on their own ideas and experiences, under the guidance of Superstars director Sharon Clancy and Michael Benson of Benpix Productions
Over 30 students developed, wrote and acted in three short films which were shot recently. The filma are now in post-production with a screening date to be confirmed.
'It was a mightly achievement by all the cast and crew to complete the films in such a short time frame', said Sharon. 'The project introduced the students in very real terms to what it means to be a busy working actor'.
Superstars Academy students are looking forward to their summer production of 'Wicked in Oz' which combines two iconic musicals.
It will be presented in Dun Mhuire Theatre on June 22 for two shows, featuring Kilrane/Rosslare Harbour, Enniscorthy and Wexford Superstars aged from four to 16 years.
