WEXFORD wildlife photographer John Holden caught these images at Rosslare Harbour following the recent beaching of a dolphin calf.

John said there were multiple attempts by many individuals to get him back into the sea and eventually Rosslare Harbour teenager Sammy Delaney stripped off to his boxers and waded into the freezing water, to steer the dolphin back in the right direction.

'It's a great shot of a teenager dropping his iPhone/Xbox and giving a damn about the world around him for a minute,' said John.

'The fate of the dolphin unclear at the moment, but he might just have made it.'
