Teenager Daniel hopes to hit the right notes in the final

Wexford teenager Daniel Bury is hoping to hit all the right notes as he performs at the All Ireland Final of Teenstars Singing Competition.

18-year-old Daniel who is a student at St. Peter's College Wexford will battle it out against 31 other finalists between the ages of 13 and 18 at the finals on Sunday, May 3 in the Westgrove Hotel in Clane, Co Kildare.

Daniel auditioned for this competition via an online video audition and successfully made it through to the live shows where he sang 'Jealous of the Angels' and 'I dreamed a dream' to progress to the Leinster final of the competition where he sang a very animated version of Peter Kay's 'Is This The Way To Amarillo' which saw him through to the All Ireland semi final.

Daniel made it through to semi finals in the 2014 competition but failed to secure a place, but there was absolutely no stopping him this time around as he sang a spot on version of Kodaline's hit 'All I Want' which gave him his place in the All Ireland Final.

Family and friends will be joining Daniel in the final as he sings for this title singing 'The Show Must Go On' by Queen which is one of his all time favourite songs.

He will be judged on the overall performance including; singing, performing, stage presence and the audience reaction. Daniel is no stranger to performing in front of judges as he has performed in many talent show including; St.Peter's Got Talent, Singing Pubs, All Ireland Schools Talent Search and even sung on a talent show on a cruise ship.

Over 1,300 teenagers auditioned for a place in the Teenstars competition which brings the top 32 from an 8-12 years old category and a 13-18 year old category.

Daniel is the grandson of the former People Newspaper worker Nicholas (Nicky) J Lawlor who worked in the People newspaper offices for almost 30 years.
