Thieves strike at businesses but leave with very little
Several Wexford town business were broken into over the past weekend, although little of any substantial value appears to have been taken.
Thieves broke into Threads, opposite the Friary entrance between Friday night and Saturday morning (March 13/14) after removing a small front window. Around €60 was taken from the till.
Between Saturday and Sunday (March 14/15) thieves forced an upstair's rear window at Richie Doyle's Butchers in South Main Street. Gardai said on office was searched and a laptop was taken as well as a small quantity of coins from the till.
And early on Monday morning, raiders failed in an attempt to remove a safe from the Talbot Leisure Centre (pictured above).
Gardai said they had CCTV images of the thieves trying to remove the safe at 2.39 a.m. as an alarm went off.
