Three out of four town managers in Wexford will be women

The identities of the new town managers for the county have been revealed. Three out of four are women.

They are Angela Laffan, the current acting district administrator in Wexford, who has been appointed district manager of the Wexford Borough District; Amanda Byrne, who has been appointed district manager Gorey Municipal District;

Padraig O'Gorman, who has been appointed district manager Enniscorthy Municipal District and Sinead Casey, who has been appointed district manager of New Ross Municipal District.

Other key changes are Liz Hore, who has been promoted to the senior position as county housing officer; Anthony Bailey, New Ross town clerk, who has been transferred to the county council's housing department and David Minogue, who was in Enniscorthy, who has been appointed the county council's communications officer.

Almost 40 people applied for the top five top jobs.
