Time to saddle up for the Tour of Wexford
LAST WEEK saw the launch of the third Tour of Wexford Cycle by the Irish Pilgrimage Trust and Wexford Wheelers Cycling Club.
The trust which serves people with special needs all over county Wexford is encouraging people to get back in the saddle and on their bikes on Sunday, August 5, for the charity cycle in association with Wexford Wheelers. All of the funds raised from the tour will go towards the Irish Pilgrimage Trust Home in Kilrane, now known as Cois Cuain,
The Tour will start and finish at St Joseph's Community Centre with a mass getting things underway at 9 a.m. on August 5. There will be three different routes available taking in 70km, 100km and 160km to suit all ages and levels of fitness from those who are just getting back in the saddle, to those dreaming of competing in the Tour De France!
This year's route will head south west towards the ring of Hook, taking in some of the most beautiful countryside that Wexford has to offer. There will be several scheduled water stops along the route, with soup and sandwiches being provided at the finish line back at St Joseph's.
