Toast for supermarket workers
TWO Tesco employees with 30 years service each were the toast of the supermarket at a party in South 51.
Check-out supervisor Theresa Murphy and butcher Vincent Walsh began working with Quinnsworth in 1980 before it was taken over by Crazy Prices and then Tesco. Fellow employee Vera Meyler, who organised the celebration, didn't want to let the milestone pass without a fuss.
Tesco workers gathered in South 51 last Saturday night to honour the pair. Among the guests were Theresa's daughter Aisling and son Patrick who also work in the supermarket and Vincent's wife Thelma who is also employed by Tesco.
She and Vincent were presented with watches and champagne and received framed awards marking their service.
