The winner of last year's Energia Ireland's Most Christmassy Home competition is shortlisted once again this year with public voting open until midnight on December 11.

Tony Fitzpatrick from Drinagh won last year's competition, taking nearly 20% of the total vote, and he is shortlisted again this year.

For over 20 years, Tony has been decorating his house for Christmas, starting with just one light to delight his children, and adding to the collection every year since.

The lights take about six weeks to erect, with months of work prior to that, to ensure that all of the lights are functioning properly.

All homes can be seen on and voting is by text message. The winner of the competition will be announced on December 13.

The first, second and third prizes are €3,000, €2,000 and €1,000 respectively to the charity of the person's choice.

Tony is up against five other finalists from Dublin, Limerick and Wicklow.

Geoff Codd, Head of Marketing and Retail Development with Energia commented: 'We received amazing competition entries from all over Ireland and it was very difficult to shortlist just six homes.

'The effort and festive spirit evident in all entries is a mark of how popular the competition has become and we are delighted to have the opportunity to enable such creativity while supporting local causes.'

This is the third year of the competition.
