Top teens to make TV debut

A GROUP of Wexford teenagers are about to make their debut on television.

Members of the youth clubs at Southend Family Resource Centre in Maudlintown are among 10 finalist groups taking part in 'Ireland's Top Teens' competition on TV3.

The two-part television show will be broadcast on TV3 on Sunday next, October 30 at 6 p.m. and on Sunday, November 6.

The programme is part of the Permanent TSB Foróige Youth Citizenship Awards 2011 which honour young people who undertake a community project.

The Southend group came up with a gardening project which included the planting and maintenance of a flower bed in a boat on the green in Maudlintown.

Part one of the television show will tell the story of each of 10 finalist projects chosen from over 150 entries around the country. Part two will be the awards ceremony, broadcast from the Helix in Dublin.
